HOLMDEL, NJ: In a move to strengthen its business and to provide better services, Vonage Holdings, provider of cloud communications services for businesses and consumers, has acquired iCore Networks. The acquisition complements Vonage’s rapidly expanding Unified Communications-as-a-service (UCaaS) business.
iCore is a provider of UCaaS- a delivery model in which a variety of communications and collaboration applications and services are outsourced to a third-party provider and delivered over an IP network, usually the public Internet. The company also delivers full range of complementary cloud services, like Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), virtual desktop and hosted Microsoft Exchange.
With the inclusion of iCore, Vonage is planning to serve businesses of all kinds through a multi-channel distribution approach. The accumulation delivers the UCaaS market to the company, while addressing mid-market and enterprise companies through a Field Sales organization that sells directly to customers and a Channel Sales organization that supports company’s extensive network of indirect channel partners. It also deepens the access of Vonage at the higher end of business market.
“iCore is an excellent strategic fit and a natural complement to Vonage’s rapidly expanding UCaaS business. It has a proven track record of delivering the innovative UCaaS solutions required by mid-market and enterprise companies, and has been particularly successful combining hosted communications with complementary cloud services to create a robust unified communications experience,” says Alan Masarek, CEO, Vonage.
