TTI headquarters will become the TREND Networks' center of excellence for fiber-optic research and development.

FREMONT, CA: TREND Networks, a leading provider of dependable data cable, network, and CCTV testers has announced the acquisition of Terahertz Technologies (TTI), a provider of fiber optic and photonics test equipment based in the United States.

"Businesses handling fibre optic cables can now Depend On Us for a wider range of equipment for testing fibre optic cabling," says Paul Walsh, CEO, TREND Networks. "TTI has a fantastic team and some extremely talented engineers, so we are excited to work alongside them to expand our range of high-performing and cost-effective fibre testing products, as well as innovate new solutions."

TTI will continue to create and manufacture products at its Oriskany, New York headquarters following the acquisition, ensuring that items are created in the United States. The existing team will remain, along with the engineering, sales, and production teams, and CEO Michael Mazzatti, who started the company in 1989 to offer a comprehensive range of testers such as OTDR, PM/LS, PON, DWDM, OLTS, CWDM, and more.

"We are looking forward to the next chapter for TTI and joining the TREND Networks family," says Michael Mazzatti, CEO, TTI. "In joining forces with this trusted manufacturer, we know our customers will benefit from the first-class technical support, cloud-based solutions, and ongoing investment in technologies. We are excited that a renewed sales and marketing effort and international distribution network will also bring TTI testers to more users globally."

All TREND Networks fiber test equipment will continue to be available. TREND Networks will begin working on various new fiber test equipment projects in the coming months. TTI headquarters will become the TREND Networks' center of excellence for fiber-optic research and development.

TREND Networks plans to integrate the new testers into the TREND AnyWARE Cloud eco-system to give Dependable Data anytime it is required. This best-in-class test management solution makes it easier for users to test and debug cable, access all necessary information on numerous devices quickly and efficiently, and provide the high-quality performance reports that customers require.

TTI will continue to provide sales, technical support, repair, and calibration services to existing clients, essentially as before. TREND Networks will offer similar services to the new renamed product line in the future, ensuring that customers receive Dependable Support worldwide, including in local languages. TREND Networks' international network of distribution partners will also be able to provide the redesigned testing line.

"Fibre cable is an ideal and cost-effective choice when high levels of bandwidth are needed, making up the majority of cabling in data centres in particular," Walsh explains. "Higher data volumes are increasing demand for fibre. So, in expanding our range of testers through this acquisition, we will ensure that businesses can get more of what they need from the same trusted brand."

TREND Networks has been independent of its previous owner for more than two years, and this is its first acquisition. In March 2021, the company changed its name from IDEAL Networks to TREND Networks. The acquisition will help the company continue to grow in North America and around the world and expand its fiber optic testing expertise and product line.
