Infosim and MTN-Nigeria Communications PLC have formed a strategic alliance for StableNet implementation.
FREMONT, CA: Infosim® GmbH & Co. KG and MTN Group, along with its Operating Company (OpCos) MTN-Nigeria Communications PLC, have established a strategic alliance for StableNet® implementation. With a network management platform capable of managing several vendors and technologies from a single user interface, the solution will help to enhance network visibility and automated management features.
MTN Nigeria, which is part of the MTN Group, provides for more than 64 million people across the country and is the first network in West Africa to perform 5G trials in 2019. Meanwhile, StableNet® proceeds its amazing run in the telco space, with its automated, vendor-agnostic solution to network and service management gaining traction in the market.
The collaboration between Infosim® and MTN is moving quickly, with Phase 1 completed and Phase 2 well underway. MTN Nigeria has already gained a thorough understanding of their multi-vendor network, allowing them to detect issues as they arise and, as a result, significantly reduce troubleshooting times and service degradations.
MTN's Group Global Sourcing and Supply Chain (GSSC) authorized an RFQ in 2020, with necessities starting from network visibility, discovery, and fault and performance management for their mobile base station core network, optical (DWDM), IP/MPLS, and Microwave network components, as well as the desirables of automated root cause analysis (RCA), topology, and reporting. StableNet® can meet the standards and deliver a centralized network and service management solution, putting MTN Nigeria and MTN Group OpCos in a solid position to continue their growth in the future.
According to Dirk Karl, MTN Group Executive for Procurement and Supply Chain, "We are looking forward to Infosim®'s continued support as we work to ensure that MTN OpCos remain an innovative leader amongst network service providers. With StableNet® we see an opportunity to implement a network management solution that delivers a high degree of automation, simplification and is able to manage a technologically diverse network infrastructure."
Dr Stefan Köhler, Infosim® CEO, had this to say about the partnership, "We are proud to support the largest mobile network operator in Africa and one of the top ten mobile operators to improve network service availability and operate their network more cost efficiently. We are looking forward to a successful long-term partnership and are delighted to work with MTN on new network technologies and services."
