Types of Wireless Communication
There are currently more varieties of wireless communication on the market than one could have imagined even 20 years ago, and the term ‘wireless’ has become a generic term for many of them. However, not all types of wireless are created equal, and not all can (or should) be employed in the same applications. Types of Wireless Network
In most everyday situations, there are two types of wireless networks:
Local Area Network (LAN): An internal office network or a network of home devices, for example (computers, mobile phones, game consoles, and tablets connected to the same router in one location from a local area network). A wired connection, typically referred to as an ‘ethernet cable,’ was once necessary to set up a local area network. Although wired networks remain popular for various reasons, including superior interference protection and security compared to wireless, WiFi is now widely utilized for local networking.
Wide Area Network (WAN): A WAN is a kind of network that spans a broad area, and the internet is one example. Because wires are often faster, more dependable, and less vulnerable to interference, they are utilized to move most data traveling through the internet. However, with the introduction of the modern smartphone and other mobile devices such as tablets, an increasing number of people are connecting to the internet via cellular data. This is distinct from WiFi, and many less tech-savvy people are still perplexed by it.
