SAN JOSE, CA: Avago Technologies – a provider of analog interface components for wireless, wireline, storage and industrial applications– announces the general availability of its 40G bidirectional (BiDi) multimode fiber (MMF) QSFP+ transceiver module for high speed data center interconnect and networking applications.
The Avago AFBR-79EBPZ is a 40 Gigabit Ethernet based on 2x20 BiDi optics, the module enables four Tx and four Rx 10G electrical data lanes to transmit over a 2-fiber LC duplex cable. It provides cost-effective transition from 10G to 40G Ethernet using existing 10G MMF cabling infrastructure. The module supports 40G data transfer over 100meters of OM3 fiber or 150 meters of OM4 fiber and compliant to 40G XLPPI electrical specification per IEEE 802.3ba-2010 and QSFP+ SFF-8436 specification.
The device can be used in datacom/telecom switch and router connections, data aggression and backplane applications and proprietary protocol and density applications.
